Multiple yahoo messengers

I generally try to be online on my yahoo messenger from 6 PM to 6 AM everyday. Since, I have a lot of contacts throughout the world, people come online at various times depending on their convenience.
The problem is that I have 5 roommates and each of us would like to stay online and also we have only one computer. Hence, It is difficult for me to be online for the whole 12 hrs. I can’t sacrifice my sleep for chatting with somebody. More over it looks foolish to keep your status online when you are sleeping. That’s why I try to be online until I’m awake or until I’m on my PC. As a roommate I can’t stop my other roommates from checking mail etc.. On the other hand I can’t keep my status “Offline”. My offline status may send wrong signals to the people who were coming online just then. People will think that I’m offline and they hesitate to send messages. But the fact remains that even though one of my friends is chatting on his messenger account, I would be sitting beside him. People who are trying to reach me by messengers wouldn’t be aware of this fact. I was trying to find a solution for this. I searched on net but I could find only those type of messengers in which we can be logged in on different accounts (like yahoo, GTalk, Msn etc…).But I was searching for the messenger which can enable me to login when one of my friends is logged in on the same messenger. My wish may sound stupid. But I found the solution. I want to share this information with the people who are trying for the same.

There are some messengers like Ymulti messenger etc…But I was not satisfied with them. I did a lot of things and ended up with the working solution for my problem. I want to give you a simple way of enabling this feature on your yahoo messenger. In fact you have to follow many steps but I have done all that and saved that file for you. Virgin's entry in Indian telecom network-Provides more benifits to youth

Get paid for attending incoming calls........When somebody mentions this, I would either think they are out of their mind or they are drunk. But in this case you have to believe me(As i'm neither). I was surprised when I saw this interesting news on a popular mobile magazine. The new revolution in Indian telecom networks.....One of the popular network providers in UK is here in indian market now, to provide better features and compete with leading providers like Bharathi Airtel,Vodafone(previously was Hutch)etc..It entered the Indian market with a different strategy. According to the chairman of Virgin Mobiles Sir Richard Branson this strategy aimed at attracting the youth(which is vital for any market,specially where india is concerned.)

I feel I can provide better information about this in the form of Q&A

• Are they collaborating with any existing network providers or they are starting a new network?
  

The Virgin Mobiles is being introduced in india by Tata tele services,which is well known for its CDMA network(With the name “Tata Indicom”)

• Does it mean all Tata indicom subscribers will be shifted to Virgin mobiles?
  

The answer would be “No”. They are not going to touch the existing users of Tata indicom. At the same time, even if any tata indicom user wants to shift also, he can't do that. For that he should get a new Virgin connection. Tata indicom and virgin are two seperate networks provided by the same provider.

• Is it a GSM Network or CDMA?
  

It is CDMA network provider, but it introduced some handsets which contain RUIM(Removable user identity module) .To make people understand I can mention RUIM as SIM of CDMA network.

Beam your screen

I was trying to rip an old movie(Thalapathy) using MeGui software. I was new to ripping, hence I knew only the basics. These basics could help me rip normal DVDs which had good properties (brightness,colour,sharpness etc).When it comes down to old movies, they require some change of settings(like changing avisynth script for desired properties).Like I mentioned before, I was new to ripping, I didn't know what settings had to be changed to get a perfect rip out of this roadside DVD(According to rippers “Original” means DVD9 or DVD5). I asked one of my teammates to teach me the advanced settings in MeGui(I'm a member of releasing group “Team galaxy”).He was busy with his work and told me that he will teach me later. Since I had regular college from morning 8:40 to evening 5:00,I'm online usually after 5 pm only. By that time he would have left his office and wouldn't be available to teach me. I was disappointed that our timings did not match, at the same time I was searching for a solution to this problem. Surprisingly, one day I found him online at 7'o clock in the evening. I wanted to grab the oppurtunity. I asked him if he could teach me. The reply I got was”When I'm online you will not be available and when you are online I will not be available. I came online now because I have some work. I'm busy. If need be, you consult xxxx”(xxxx was my other team mate's name.I don't want to mention it here). I said “ok”.

Then I consulted xxxx. He asked me what the problem was with my rip?(I had already ripped it and got the worst rip I had ever done). I told him that the Brightness was very less and contrast was a bit high than normal. Then change the Avisynth script,he told me.....But I didn't know what settings had to be changed. I asked him if there was anyway in which he could help me out since I was absolutely clueless. He understood my problem and asked me to install”Beamyourscreen”(Which is our topic now).I went to www.beamyuorscreen.com and installed the 7 days trail version of it.

I wondered what he wanted to do. I informed him after i finished installation. He told me to register on that site and I did the same. Then I opened the application and it asked me the login details. I logged in. He asked me to send the link which was given in the application and also told me to activate the remote control option. I really didn't know what he was trying to do until I observed my mouse pointer moving without me moving it. Then i realised that i had given him the access to my mouse and keyboard. Doesn't it sound interesting? He changed the settings in the script using his mouse and keyboard. I found it very interesting. If you use this application you can access other's computers (of course if only they agree for that).Use your keyboard and mouse to access his/her computer. I have used it and found it ultra cool....So i want all of you to check this out.

My Experiences with Fedora

I had been using windows for around 1 year since I got my system.In fact I got original Xp home edition for Rs.3000/-(I didn’t want to encourage piracy…..).There was a linux fever in my college’s hostel(I stay out of the hostel.Had enough of it in my first year).I heard much about linux that it’s a good OS but the only problem is that its not user-friendly. Just to open a video file you have to give some commands which is very tedious process in fact(of course only in GNome environment).”Except for these things linux is better than windows…..”-my friend told me.I wanted to see how difficult linux was.I thought “I have dealt with windows for these many days….what difficulties will I face if I use linux? I can play with linux..there is nothing like what all these people are saying….”

Then I went to my friend who told me about linux and got the DVD to install fedora 8 on my system.I came home thinking that I can prove everybody wrong by using it efficiently.I kept the DVD into my DVD drive and started installing fedora on my genuine windows system.Then started the real story.I couldn’t understand even a single step which was given in the installation guide.There was something called swap,home etc…in partitions.I couldn’t figure them out properly.I didn't have any clue of what to do.Then I had to call my friend who had experience with linux.He told me some commands…no use…they didn’t work….After some time he told me “You have some problem with your partition lay out…..Let me come and check that..till then don’t install linux on your system”.I told him just “Ok”.

Next day,my friend came to my place and gave some commands and some how finished that installation.I felt so happy when I saw fedora working on my system.Then I realized the fact that linux is entirely different from windows(which I was using till then).I really had tough time working on it.My roommate warned me when I had a thought of installing linux only.He said “it’s not that its too difficult to handle.But you should be able to remember some commands(which you don’t need to do on windows)”.I told “ok…that’s no problem…I have good memory power" very confidently(looks like over confidence right.........!!!!).

But my friend who installed linux on my system gave me a shock.He said that "I don’t know how to configure broadband on linux".I didn’t know what to do…Because I can't survive without internet here.Fortunately I met a guy who had loads of experience with linux on some site….I asked him how to configure broadband.He told me some simple steps which I followed and got connected to my BSNL broadband.Finally I got some experience(in fact just 2 days…he he) on linux….

Earth hour

Here is my contribution in spreading public awareness regarding the campaign “Earth hour”. This is the campaign started by WWF(World Wide Fund for Nature).This campaign’s main objective is to save resources which in turn give raise to reduce climate changes. organizers are inviting all corporate, business, institutional people to switch off their lights and unnecessary appliances at least for one hour in the whole year.Last year this was held on 31^st march 2007 from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm and this year it is back with the same concept. .This time the day is coming on march 29^th from 8pm.I request all the readers to think about it and participate in earth hour.For one hour stay somewhere outside the house and save resources.more than just one hour per year,please try to switch off appliances when they are unused.This may bring a lot of difference.

Musikcube and Foobar2000

Have you got bored with the default wmp or winmap?then,this is a good news for you.New music players which play almost all formats of audio have come now.The ones which i'm mentioning here are all freewares.No need to use 3 or 4 players.One player will do for playing all types of audio..Here i'm providing links for 2 lite ram using players.feel the difference.i had a lot of problems with my wmp and was searching for an alternative for a long time.at last i found 2 players which are really cool.they are lite on your ram and better performance.These softwares can be preferred by the people who have very large library.I have almost around 25 gb of music which my wmp couldn't able to handle.Here are the 2 players.I'm not writing a review on those.i'm just referring those to you guys.

even this can play all formats as that of foobar.but the major advantage of this is that it uses less ram.On my system it was using aroung 6 Mb when i was playing songs on it.Has got cool interface,transparency.the cool feature i found in this player is that when you start playing other song while one is running already then first it will slowly reduces the volume of the previous one and starts the new one.this feature attracted me.To conclude,better than wmp,freeware.visit the website,download and install.

For other rare formats there are plugins available.The excellent feature of this player is that it has got an in-built audio converter which can convert between the mentioned formats.There are some plugins available for this which will show the bitrate of the audio at particular instance.Easy user interface.Can change layout,main page contents,text font,background colour what else you need.I found this player really efficient except for the fact that it was using 16 Mb ram which is a bit high when compared to that of musikcube.Previously i was using musikcube.Now i shifted to foobar and experiencing the difference.

Time travel and its possibilities

First time I’m discussing some concept elaborated on my blog. As one of my professor started discussing about time travel in the class, eventually, I started thinking of it. I wanted to find out what are the main barriers for time travel. I’m trying my best to describe why time travel is not possible. Before thinking of time travel you should be clear about the definition of time. What time actually is? It’s very difficult to define time. we can’t either touch or see time. It’s just a sense. The evidence for we moving through time can be given in everything(like growth in our body , change in weather etc….). Second, minute , hour , day , year…these are not the exact definitions of time. These are the durations of time which we have framed for our convenience. Now we are clear about time. It’s time to move ahead to the concept of time travel.(some of the proposed time traveling machines are shown in figs)

As the name suggests, time travel is the concept of moving either backward or forward between two points in time. How nice it would be, if time travel is possible…!you can go back in time and meet your forefathers or your favorite actors or players who have passed away. Or you can go into future and see all the events that are happening there. These are the main advantages of time travel which made scientists think of it. If you observe keenly, we all are time travelers in some or the other way. Even if you are not doing anything but simply sitting and watching television without your knowledge time is traveling around you. The present is being converted to past at the same time future to present. So, what ever people are trying now is not entirely new. What they are trying is that to travel rapidly in time. Einstein’s theory of special relativity laid a good foundation for this concept. But till now nobody had actually demonstrated how it works, at the same time even in the negative aspect too.

According to the twin paradox, in which a person goes into space in a high speed rocket and returns his home, where he finds himself aged less than his twin who stayed on the earth. This result proves that time travel to future is possible. Let’s talk about the relation between special relativity and time travel. It is proving that time travel into future is possible indirectly by twin paradox. If you think of traveling into past, then this theory will not suite as good as for forward time travel. Many people approached time travel in a different perspective. They tried to make use of the theory which says that, time will slow down as your speed increases. so if you can travel with a velocity more than that of light then is there any possibility of traveling back??? But the fact is that without touching velocity of light you can not travel with a greater velocity than that of light. According to special relativity theory, at a velocity equal to light, time stops and length contracts to zero and resistance to acceleration becomes infinity which forces you to put up infinite energy which is impossible. This is one way of thinking about time travel.

However there are many other paradoxes(Which are also known as barriers) to be considered for time travel like Grandfather paradox in which you go back in time and kill your grandfather which turns for the non-existence of one of your parents there by non-existence of you. These paradoxes put time travel concept in dilemma.

Another theory about time travel gives rise to parallel universe. Let’s suppose you went back in time and killed your grandfather. You might have gone to some other universe which is similar to ours but which has different succession of events. So, even if you kill your grandfather you would have killed him in different universe. The universe in which you killed your grandfather is not the universe you exist in. Every action give rise to the creation of new universe. By killing your grandfather you created a new universe which is similar to that of yours till the time you went and killed your grandfather. Theory of special relativity stated that “As any object approaches speed of light, the time stops. This gave a thought that time travel is possible if you can attain a speed more than that of speed of light. But when a body reaches the speed of sound, then it’s mass increases to infinity. As we all know it is very difficult to accelerate infinite mass object. Hence time travel can’t be possible. More over, Speed of light(Approx.300,000,000 m/sec or ~Mach No. of 909,090.9090) will be considered as the maximum speed at which something can travel. So obtaining a speed of more than that of light is impossible which in turn mentions that time travel is also not possible.

Fractal geometry

Many of us are unfamiliar with this concept of fractal .You can find many complex definitions and descriptions about it. Here, I’m trying to explain what a fractal is, in a very simple manner. Fractal is a mathematical geometric shape, which can be sub-divided into parts, each of which produce the reduced size copy or at least approximately reduced copy of the whole. The concept can be explained with the example shown in the figure. Lets take the example of the equilateral triangle shown in the figure.It can further be divided in to small equilateral triangles which are similar to the parent geometry but smaller in size. The parent geometry from which the similar shapes can be produced is called “Fractal geometry”.Fractals are generally self similar.

The word fractal was first found by Benoit Mandelbrot in the year 1975.The word fractal was derived from a latin word “Fractus”,which means broken or fractured.Fractals can describe many real world objects..If we observe normal geometries closely we can find only straight lines.But if you do the same for fractals we can find more details about the geometry as the sub-devided particles resemble with the whole.these are produced where the output is feedback again as input for the system.

The better way to find out a fractal is,if you keep on dividing the shape then the perimeter increases infinitely with finite area.This can be applied to the equilateral triangle,and there by can be found that it is a fractal.For that matter you can apply to all real world geometries also ,and every geometry satisfies the conditions.All real world geometries can be considered as fractals.

Can Team india get away without seniors??

Many of the readers say no for the question that is being asked here.I agree with the people who say no.As we are watching all the matches in the tri-series,till now team india did not show it's complete performance.I don't think young players can tackle the situations as better as seniors.Keeping seniors a side may give chance for young players to prove themselves.But at the same time selectors should think of the situations where young players fail.According to me at least 30% of the team should be of experienced players.Keeping Ganguly,Dravid out of the team may send good signals that performance is the basis for the place in team.But how many of the young players(who have been selected for this series) are playing to their best?I can tell surely that the seniors are better than at least the one's who are maintaining their average of around 4 in this series.The importance of seniors will be known only after the young team looses a series.They won the T20 championship.ok.But that doesn't mean they are the best.Even australia lost to bangladesh once.That doesn't mean Bangladesh is better than austrlia.At that particular instance their performance was good.Thats all.The same thing may or may not repeat.we never know.Thats why one innings or one series performance shouldn't be considered as the scale.The player who is performing well now,may not do so in the next match.Thats where experience plays a vital role.Getting out of the team any way is not going to harm seniors much.But what i say is that,any way they will play barely for another 6 or 8 months.Let them play till then and give them good farewell.No player wants his career to end with a situation where he had not played any match in last 1 year or so.Even the so called future indian team is not performing that well without seniors.So i think this will be the foolish decision ever taken by indian selectors.As ganguly,who is in his best form of the career was also kept a side,we can make out a point that that team selection was not based on performance.I request the selectors to leave the politics and watch for the welfare of the team.

Kamal haasan played 10 different roles in this movie.Asin is the heroin and k.s.ravikumar is directing the movie.
Mallika sherawat,Jayaprada are plying a small role in this.Bollywood composer himesh is composing tunes for it and background music is given by tollywood famous composer Devi sri prasad..It's audio going to be release at Nehru indore stadium,Chennai.This function is going to attract all because the hollywood action hero Jackiechan is attending it.The producer's brother Mr.Ramesh babu is known for releasing jackie chan movies in Tamil nadu.With that background they invited jackie for the audio release.as per the sources,Jackie heard the music and assured that he will attend the function.Movie is said to be released on 10th April,2008.Let's wait for the release.It's gonna rock Kollywood.

Robot Started with arjun as villian

A big budget movie of the south indian industry,with a budget of Rs.125 crores Robot started it's proceedings At chennai.The muhurtham shot was being shot on the hero Rajinikanth.Heroin of this movie is Aishwarya rai.Both aynragan internatioonals and adlabs combined together producing this massive budget movie.Shankar is directing the movie .The modern maestro A.R.Rahman is scorring the music for this movie.Arjun got selected for the hero opponent role in the movie.He already acted in 2 more movies with shankar.This is going to be his 3rd film with shankar and rahman combination.Before he did Gentleman,Mudalvar(oke okkadu in telugu)with this combination.But the only change is that,he was hero in those movies and now he is opponent to hero.

Contraversies on Jodhaa Akbar

More than the movie reviews,people have now started thinking of the controversies lead by the movie "Jodhaa Akbar".The Main contro for this movie is that,Jodhaa was not the wife of Akbar but rather his son jahangir's.The argument of the people who are protesting this release is not fair.They are arguing that,how can a muslim fellow marry a hindu girl?Whether it is true or not,but one thing is clear that they are not against the movie rather to the history.As you wish history will not change.you have to change according to the history.
Moreover,the director of the movie Asuthosh never mentioned that the movie is based on history.He only mentioned that the story was written after he got inspired of the history.we never know whether Jodhaa was there or not.And we cant change the history too.So no need to think all these before watching the movie.The producers would have spent a lot of money for that.I'm not telling by any chance that,if you spend more money you can produce movies which are controversial.i meant to say that before protesting the release,the people should watch the movie and then mention what are the parts which they are suspecting to be against the history or the history which they are thinking of.Just because one group of people or one community of people are protesting,the producers can't afford to stop the movie releasing.If people want they can try to cut some scenes which are objected.I request the people who are protesting to consider this.
Even critics are telling that the movie is flawless.The history also mentions that akbar married a hindu girl.Why it can't be jodha.If you are arguing that jodhaa was jahangir's wife,then where is the proof for it?.ok..Even though if it is proved to be true,As the director never mentioned it is based on true history,that doesn't matter at all.
So,what my view is that,just forget all protests and enjoy the 31/2 hrs in the theater.Because the movie is basically meant for entertainment.God knows how many people agree with the things that are shown in movies.In many movies,directors show that youngers should give respect to elders.But out of all the people who watch the movie,I'm sure only less than 5% people only actually think about it.So i Don't Think people actually think of the things that are shown in movies.These types of controversies have become common for all the movies which are based on history.for example with mangalpandey also.so i think people should leave this type of mentality and encourage the film industry to produce clean blockbuster hits like Jodha Akbar

About Torrents

Torrents,A Gentle way of sharing data.This is useful and also looking very efficient these days.The terminology used in torrents is very interesting.Some of the terms which we come across often in torrents are

• Seed - A Seed is an Active member of torrent who has got the complete file.As the no.of seeds increases download speed also increases.
• Peer or leecher - A peer is the Active member of the torrent who is having some part of the file or simply telling,the active member who is downloading the file.
• Seeding - This is the process of sharing the file with others.This is Actually nothing but uploading.
• Leeching - This is a process of downloading via torrent
  
• Tracker - This is a medium which enables sharing via torrents.Without using Tracker we cannot even create a proper torrent
• Ratio - This is the ratio of the amount of data uploaded to the amount downloaded
• Availability - This depends on the no.of seeds connected.This is the no.of copies of the file available at that particular moment
• clients - These are the specially made download managers for the purpose of preforming all the operations that are discussed above like seeding,leeching etc....There are many clients like utorrent,Azeureus,bitcommet,bitlord etc....But most of the torrenters prefer utorrent because of it's less memory usage.
• Upspeed - while downloading a file via internet we will not come across this term.Where as ehen you are downloading through torrents this will play major role.The down speed you are getting depends upon your up speed.If you restrict up speed then proportionally down speed will also decrease.
  

My view on On Rahman

Me,as a fan of rahman,in fact as a lover of his composition,feel so happy to share my views about rahman.As a music lover,i like all composer's composition.But to speak specifically,somehow i have become lover of rahman's music.The reason can't be analyzed.here by i'm trying to share my views on Rahman.Whether it may be his style of composition or his way of living or whatever it may be for that matter.Here are some of my own views on rahman as a human.

• He is very humble and down to earth.
• He likes experimenting,that makes him something different from others.

• His contribution towards social activities like donations for sunami and publicity for tajmahal etc....(He actually inspired people to apply their minds on those issues.

• As a composer,i like his variation in his music.
• And moreover his experiments with new type of technology or with new singers brings his composition from good to awesome.
• He adopts to the conditions soon and will try to do his best in all.

Before 15 years nobody would have expected that a keyboard player,somewhere from south india will rock the music world of india.Now rahman is the success manthra for all the producers.We can find all his albums became musical hit.Recently,As per TIMES magazine survey,Roja was one of the top 10 albums.That shows where rahman is now.Now he may be earning lot of money and spending it later on for technology used for his music.But i wonder,How he could able to produce such a an awesome composition ROJA(1992) in his career starting with out having money to invest on so called technology,about which critics mention all the time.He got just Rs 25,000/- for his first album Roja.After he started his career he never looked back.There are some movies which became hit just because of his music.I feel there is some attractive power in his music which drags everybody towards him.I'm very proud to say that i'm rahman's fan.
