Left click is not opening the Drive or Folder

This is an usual problem one can find with their PC.Suddenly, once when u try to open the drive,it opens a Pop Up saying that you have to select a program to open this file.what you can normally do is that,Go to Browe-->My Computer-->C:-->Program files--->Explorer---->Select Explorer.exe and open it.Its a bit tedious. At the same time, how many times can u repeat the same procedure? When ever you have to open a drive, you have to follow the same procedure. Is there any permanent solution for this problem? The answer would be obviously YES.

  1. First Go to RUN
  2. Type "cmd" and press ENTER
  3. Normally it will be C:Documents and Settings\Username>
  4. type cd.. and press enter
  5. Repeat the step 4 until you get C: alone on the screen
  6. Now type attrib -a -s -h -r autorun.inf press ENTER
  7. Then type del autorun.inf Press ENTER
  8. Repeat the same for howmany ever disks you have.
That means,Lets say,I have two disks on my HDD....C & D
Now,by the above process i could delete autorun.inf file in C Drive.I have to do the same for my D Drive also...To do that,

in Command prompt type D: press Enter

  1. Now type attrib -a -s -h -r autorun.inf press ENTER
  2. Then type del autorun.inf Press ENTER
Do the same for all your drives and restart the system once. Then It will work fine.

Its because of a virus Autorun.inf, which will be hidden in all your disks. To prevent itself, that virus will disable the default action of the left click.Once you remove the file in all your disks, your problem is solved.
